Cardigan Welsh Corgi

We are a small kennel located on the Western side of Washington in the gorgeous farmlands of Skagit County. We have been having a few litters of Chihuahuas for around 4 years now. We also breed champion Cardigan Welsh Corgis. We believe that our dogs exceed many others of their kind in appearance, structure, and desirable personality. Our dogs are rooted bloodline champions, intelligent herding crew, and 'best size' dog for anyone. One of our goals is to finally see people with these amazing dogs at the parks, stores, streets, and various communities of Washington State. But, not only in Washington - but across the country too! Seeing so few Cardigans in the Pacific Northwest has brought us a deep passion to bring this breed of dogs here. We love each and every one of our pups and we are here for you.

Cardigan Welsh Corgi

Léo Washburn and Mark Thorson are from Washington and breed Cardigan Welsh Corgis. My partner and I prioritize health and temperaments. The parents are cleared of any known health issues associated with Cardigans and we test for things many breeders do not. If at all possible we have the entire litter's hearing and vision tested by qualified veterinarians. We test for genetic diseases as much as possible. We x-ray for hip and elbow dysplasia. Only dogs that pass are used in our breeding program. Dogs have regular eye exams by a licensed ophthalmologist. So far none have had any hereditary eye issues. ***When asked why my Bred with H.E.A.R.T icon was missing I received this note from AKC: "The Breeder of Merit icon takes first precedence over the Bred with H.E.A.R.T. icon. Both will not be listed. For your ads you should be listed under BOM." *** The puppies are kept up-to-date on vaccines and deworming, as well as microchipped. They will have appointments to have their eyes and hearing checked so we are certain about anything that might be going on with these things. There doesn't seem to be any issues with these parents, but we like to be sure. We spend a lot of time socializing the puppies. They are introduced to leashes, "come" and "sit" commands with balanced training methods. We also introduce them to crates and car rides. Most take these things in stride by the time they leave with their new owners. We have a litter box they use from the time they are three weeks old. This usually makes potty training much easier. We work them through their fear stages (typically around 5 weeks and then again at about 8 weeks) and make sure they can handle the usual things life can bring. We don't let them go to their new homes until they are 9-10 weeks of age and have a clean bill of health from our veterinarian. We are available as a resource for you for the life of the puppy. My partner and I have a combined 50 years of training experience and we have a huge network of Cardigan people we learn from and can turn to to help you answer questions as they arise for as the dogs are with you. If you are interested in a Toreth-Indium puppy or adult, please take some time and email us and we can get to know each other better. You can find more about us on Facebook.
