Scottish Terrier

Linda Bollengier is from Texas and breeds Scottish Terriers. We (Linda’s Bonnie Scots) have been breeding some of the finest and most lovable Scottish Terrier in the Lone Star State for over 20 years! We not only breed our dogs with strict standards, but we nurture and love them, raising them alongside our own family. Of course it’s our family that makes our dogs such wonderful companions and show quality dogs. We’re different from the larger, professional kennels out there. We’re a small, family-owned and operated breeder that raises our beautiful dogs out of love and enjoyment. Are you looking for an alert, protective and hardy Scottish Terrier? Well, you can rest assured that our dogs are not only beautiful, but friendly and well behaved as well. I guarantee my Scotties for 1 year from health problems. I’ve been raising Scotties since I retired from Raytheon in 1997! I’ve had families come back second and third times to add to their family again.  Our puppies must stay with their mothers a MINIMUM of 8 - 10 Weeks, this is a standard among legitimate breeders (vs Puppy mills) You must understand why they want to get rid of them at 6 weeks - as I can attest,  they are a LOT OF WORK!!! But for the benefit of the puppies I insist on keeping them 8-10 weeks with their mother and littermates. My puppies live in the house in the middle of our loving family. They are completely housebroken on papers when I send them home. I will help instruct you on how to switch to outdoor training when they get big enough. My pups have their first set of shots at 8 weeks - My veterinarian Dr. Brian Shiplov, says that it is a shame and waste to give them a shot at 6 weeks their body cannot use the immunity yet and he doesn’t acknowledge these shots at all in his patients and starts over at 8 weeks with the 3 round series. They will come with a starter bag of their puppy food, their AKC registration papers, information about their diet and health plus a toy that smells like their mother! I have also ordered a Litter certificate for these puppies of which you will be given an official copy. All pedigrees of my babies are on my website for your perusal.  You can email me at [email protected] or call 972-734-6041 I call my babies LINDA’s Bonnie SCOTS  $500 delivery includes delivery on Continental Airlines (kennel, health certificate required for flying, etc included) Other airlines are more and I only will use them if they are "Pet-Safe"  Some areas may require different transportation at a different cost. We can discuss that is the Continental PetSafe delivery is not an option. Thanks! Linda Bollengier [email protected] Linda’s Bonnie Scots @ Green Acres Gardens in Princeton, Texas 972-734-6041

Scottish Terrier

I, Jean LaGrone, am from Texas and breed only Scottish Terriers. I have been a proud owner of Scottish Terriers since 1968. It is the only dog that I have ever owned. Though I had a litter of scottie puppies in 1970, I have been actively breeding since 2014. I currently own 3 females and 1 male, all of which, including puppies, are pets living in my home. My females and my male have been DNA tested and cleared of genetic disorders, and neither my dogs, nor my puppies have ever suffered from skin allergies or serious medical disorders, such as cancer. Recommendations: Use of Victor Hi Pro-Plus Dog Food, of which protein is 88% meat and includes Omega 6 and Omega 3, is important in the development of bones and muscles necessary to support scotties' stocky bodies, as well as maintenance of non-shedding hair. Harnesses help secure Scotties when walking as their large head can slip out of a collar. Always seat belt your beloved pet using a harness when riding in vehicle. Avoid plastic feeding dishes; glass, stainless steel, porcelain, even safe kitchen dishware/cookware make good pet dishes. Other concerns to watch for are dog food from China, certain treats, such as rawhide, and toys that might be might possess carcinogens, as plactic is a petroleum product. Hollow toys are hazardous, as chewed off pieces can cause obstructions. Solid rubber balls are excellent; Kong makes great balls. Discard all damaged toys. Pesticides are harmful, as pets lick feet. When using pesticides, fence off treated areas. Washing or wiping feet with baby wipes helps keep feet clean from any possible contamination from pesticides if you walk your scottie, especially if your 4 legged friend is licking feet. Long nails and paw pad hairs can cause walking problems, feet pain that can lead to feet licking. Many vegetables make great treats and are healthy for all dogs. If in doubt about material safety, use a lead test strip. Because of skin lotions and creams, it is important that puppies not be allowed to lick our skin, including a puppy's favorite lick spot, the chin. Helpful "potty" training hints: keep bedding, toys, play area and  "dirty" feet clean. This helps train the pup to training paper by keeping the scent only on the paper. When the scent is elsewhere, it distracts the puppy from the intended "potty" area. Feet should be washed often as they are wet with pee or the poo that has been stepped in. If scratchy after grooming or bathing, be sure that all cut hair and shampoo is thoroughly rinsed off; hair/scap conditioner for sensitive skin might also be helpful. To reduce accidents, puppies are put back in the puppy play pen often when they have been out playing with family members. This gives them a chance for drink and peeing. Door knob bells and timers can help with house training.
