Kirk and Lauren Kavanaugh live near Ponder, Texas and have been breeding Chesapeake Bay Retrievers with an emphasis on hunting and performance bloods lines, structural correctness, attitude, temperament, talent, intelligence, and trainability since 1990. All Chessies that are bred by KBar Chesapeakes are field trial or hunt titled dogs with a heavy influence of titled hunting bloodlines. Our dogs have wonderful personalities and make great family and hunting dogs that are a joy to hunt, hunt test, live and travel with or to just be around. Puppies will be healthy with all health and genetic clearances; have dew claws removed; have multiple wormings and 1st vaccination; will be familiarized to loud noises and gun shot; introduced to the crate; be well socialized to people, children, horses and cattle; will be exposed to ducks and pigeons; and will be swimming and retrieving before they leave for their new homes. We also provide support after you take your new puppy home if you need help or guidance with training or finding a trainer. The current litter is from Paige SH and Kane SH. Kane is a son of the great AFC Red Dog Anything Goes - (Porter) who achieved QAA at the age of 3, with 44 all age points & 8 all age wins. Porter is one of the only living AFC Chesapeakes. Kane is a beautiful and talented dog indeed, easily achieving both his Junior and Senior Hunt Titles by going 4 passes in 4 tests for both titles!! The pups produced from this cross will make excellent gun and family dogs!! Paige is the daughter of Gypsy SH - a granddaughter of AFC Hurricane Express Courier. Paige's sire Rooster is a Master Hunter in addition to an accomplished hunting dog. His pedigree is loaded with field and hunt titles. He is a grandson of AFC Bertram's Blazing Firewater.

Joan Morris, located in Texas, is a lover and breeder of Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. After getting her first Chessie in 1993, Joan began training, showing, hunting, and breeding. Her daughter, Jessica, took an interest in the breed at a young age (about 8 years old), and Joan taught her everything she knows. Now, almost thirty years later, the mother and daughter duo still have a passion for Chessie's.
