Rick and Jane Cavin are semi retired and are currently traveling the country in our 40 ft 5th wheel. Rick’s degree is in Animal Science and we both spent years showing and breeding a variety of dogs and other animals. We hit the road 12 years ago with no animals, our last dog had just passed. After a few years with no pets the desire for a dog was strong and we went in search of a dog that would fit our more compact lifestyle. We researched a lot of breeds, having mostly had larger breeds previously. We chose Rat Terriers because they are SMART, have a low maintenance coat, and are eager to please, little , but not too little. Abbey makes us laugh, and is a great traveling companion. Be aware the energizer bunny has nothing on Rat Terriers.
