Labrador Retrievers in Alaska

Labrador Retrievers make wonderful pets for Alaskans, given that these dogs are naturally adept at hunting game on land and water. Labs have webbed feet and an “otter tail” that works like a rudder in water. They are active pooches that love to swim, so they’re great companions for outdoorsy folks in Alaska. However, lab retrievers are versatile dogs and they also make excellent household pets and companions. Labrador Retrievers have a thick, waterproof coat and can withstand snow and cold water, but they need to be indoors and protected during Alaska’s frigid winters.

If you are looking for breeders of Lab Retrievers in Alaska, you’ve come to the right place! At Puppy Hero, we make sure every Labrador Alaska breeder is pre-screened and vetted, so that you can be sure you’re getting your new four-legged furry friend from a responsible and reputable source.

Labrador Retriever

Ginifer Hogrefe owns Antique Acres in Salcha, Alaska (We recently relocated to Delta Junction, Alaska). My family raised pugs for 15 years up until the point of moving back down to the lower 48 for health reasons. After getting married my husband and I wanted to continue the tradition of providing good family pets to Alaskan families and have been raising them for 4 years now. I feel both Labrador retrievers and pugs make excellent family dogs. There is nothing worse than adding a new member to your family only to find they do not get along with your children and being forced to rehome it. All our puppies are friendly and very well socialized prior to their first meeting with prospective new owners. They are outgoing and we have found that both pugs, and Labradors do well with young children, and other animals. Our family consists of not only the young kids, but also several dogs, and two cats who coexist very well together. My goal as a breeder is to get all my puppies settled in their forever homes where them and their new families "live happily ever after"!
